Merry Christmas CD/DVD Banner

I finished this project a few days ago, and I am really happy with how it turned out!

Merry Christmas CD Banner
This past summer I went through a huge cleaning kick and thinned out our DVD collection. We took a ton of DVDs to a store in the mall and sold them... however, they wouldn't take them all so I came home with a big stack of DVDs that got tossed into my craft bin. As I was looking for things to do with all these disks, I came across an idea here for a wall hanging.
I started with some Christmas scrapbook paper and cut circles that were just larger than the DVDs. (You can, of course, just trace the DVDs onto the paper and cut them out too.)

Then I used some double sided sticky tabs to attache the paper circles onto the fronts of the DVDs. Next, I printed the letters for "MERRY CHRISTMAS" onto some sticker paper and cut them out. I stuck the letters onto the circles.

Time for the glue gun! I love my glue gun... but then, who doesn't? I glued some ribbon to the back of the DVD from the hole to the edge. I also glued the ribbon together up to the edge of the DVD so that it would hang straight. Lastly, I put a blob of hot glue in the hole of the disk to attach it better to the paper.

Then I wondered how to hang all these disk letters up. They were pretty heavy on the ribbon that I found to put them on. I found some 3M hooks in my Christmas box and decided to try them out. They worked perfectly! And best of all, they are easy to take down and move when you don't get them in the right spot the first time.

I hung the letters up on the blank wall behind my Christmas Tree. From the front of the tree you can't see all the letters, but I don't mind because you know what it says and it looks nice.

From the side you can see all the letters. I think this project turned out great and really filled in the empty spot behind the tree.

Thanks for reading and Happy Pinning!
Jen
